Louisville
Urban League Young Professionals (LULYP) was founded to
principally serve the mission of the Louisville Urban League
which is to assist African Americans, other minority groups
and the disadvantaged to attain social and economic equality
and
stability through direct services and advocacy.
It is an auxiliary of the Louisville Urban League and a
member of the National Urban league Young Professionals (NULYP)
which consists of 55 chapters with 10,000 members
nationwide.
Founded
in September 1999 and formerly organized in January 2000,
LULYP’s mission is “to
promote social and economic empowerment in Metro Louisville
through personal development and community involvement”.
LULYP,
membership compromises of a wide range of emerging leaders
between the ages of 21-40 in the areas of law, healthcare,
education, transportation, government and business. It
reaches approximately 300 local professionals and more than
500 Metro Louisville residents annually.
