Uninsured Screening Program

Louisville Urban League is working to reduce the roles of the uninsured families and children in our community. Many people are eligible for government sponsored health insurance and don't know about it or where to or how to apply.

The League works to identify uninsured persons and families and refer them to The CoverMe Foundation a partner in the initiative. The CoverMe Foundation assists families to get enrolled in government sponsored health insurance programs. Many of these programs have criteria and requirements that make it difficult for individuals to successfully complete the application process to obtain health insurance coverage. The CoverMe Foundation works with families through the entire application and enrollment process. This helps assure that a the applications are complete and speed the processing of the application.

This program is a multi-state initiative with Louisville Urban League providing program coordination of the screening and referral services with other Urban League affiliates in:

  • Las Vegas, Nevada

  • Long Island, New York

  • Los Angeles, California

Funding for the Uninsured Screening Program is provided through a grant from the Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield Foundation.
